My husband and I are always looking for new great places for brunch -- and
especially on those sunny weekends, for places with outdoor seating that's not
right on the street. Any suggestions? This is a bit of a running list.

Thanks!

If you like beautiful, refined, simple, immaculate cooking, Boulette's larder has a nice brunch. There is outdoor seating in the back of the Ferry Building. After brunch, you can stroll along the water, or though the Ferry Building stores.

Always seems to be sunny here, small patio out front and yummy fresh dishes.

If you're ever in Berkeley around brunch time, La Note has tables in a beautiful garden out back. Damn good oeuf a la coque, too.

OMG.......the eggs with goat cheese and roasted tomatoes are to die for. I went on a roasted tomato binge the first year I tried them there......canning them and everything. Delicious bread and croissants too.

Zazie has a nice back deck / garden area, and good brunch food.

And when Zazie's has a huge crowd outside blocking the entire sidewalk, go another block down to Reverie Cafe. They have delicious food all around and a much more spacious patio garden in the back. This could be your first choice place too!

Oh, forgot to mention I do love Zazie's Eggs Monaco (poached eggs with oven roasted tomatoes and proscuitto topped with hollandaise, of course).

Definitely one of my favorite brunches in San Francisco, and a fantastic place to sit outside on a sunny day, in their fun little patio.  And the food is delicious (with awesome drinks, too).

Some of my favorite egg dishes ever--always come out perfectly here.

Yes, Love FC for dinner, and am DYING to try it for brunch! Thanks for the tip!

One of my favorite brunch spots ever and I have spotted celebrities every single time I've dined here so it's obviously not a secret!

The sun comes through the fog MUCH earlier in Dogpatch than anywhere in the city, so you can warm up with a thin crust pizza (w. an egg on top), great espresso or rosé.  bonus: they have festival days in the summer where you might be sitting next to a roasting pig on the sidewalk.

I can't wait for it to warm up to enjoy the outdoor patio on a sunny Sunday!

The place is quite, uh, rococo inside, but the back patio is beautiful. Great people watching (Laurel Heights moneyed crowd, including guys with sweaters over their shoulders). Pretty good brunch--menu is full of classic dishes, nothing groudnbreaking. Eggs Benedict is with housemade hollandaise, nicely poached eggs. Family run, pleasant staff.

Sam's Anchor CafeAdd this place

This suggestion is almost the polar opposite of my other suggestion, Boulette's Larder.

Sam's in an American place with a capital A. It's in Tiburon right on the water, and it's not a place to go if you want complex or refined food.

You go there, you order a bloody mary, you order an omelette or eggs benedict or whatever and it's perfectly serviceable. And then you sit there in the sun, drinking your bloody mary, looking out at the boats on the water, and you think to yourself, "this is a good day."

The one on Church has a nice patio space out back, and a nice broad menu. Yummy french toast!
